A day at Speakers Corner (London)

Last weekend I was in London and a friend advised me to go to Hyde Park to the speakers corner. It is an event that occurs every Sunday from 11h to 15h. From all my visits to the city it was the first time in this place.

I have to say that the experience was really enriching. To Summarize there were 5 speakers there:

  • 2 Catholic ‘preachers’ (I tagged them as fanatics on the spot);
  • 1 Jewish ‘preacher’ (another one that I tagged as fanatic);
  • 1 Environmentalist (This guy was interesting as we usually associate this subject to young people and he was on his sixties/seventies)
  • 1 guy (Danny Shine from the info I got from Wikipedia)  that was arguing about “We are all innocent”. I’ll explore a little bit about how he was keeping people engaged.

Presentation about new features in Gmail

As I mentioned before, I was in a Press Summit in Mexico presenting some of the Gmail current and new features. It is interesting to mention that I was more concerned about the presentation quality than what it is showed in the video. The presentation slides were simply not there, since the computer that had them broke during the first minute of the presentation and there was a last minute problem with the demonstration I had prepared. Seems a disaster… However here is the result…
