Personal objectives for 2010

2009 is over and another downturn is behind our back (we hope!). Last year I set up my resolutions and this year I’ll do the same…
Personally, I can say it was a great year with very strong professional development where the challenges were overcome successfully. I’ve done a bit of traveling across Europe and the US, met new friends and learn a bunch of new things, both professionally and personally.
It’s time to set personal and professional objectives for 2010:
- Visit family and friends (Portugal) more often; I’m keeping this one…
- Travel to Asia or the Caribbean (Who knows, maybe both?); I’m keeping this one…
- Master a new language (Russian); I’m already in Trinity College (lower intermediate level) and I’ll keep working on this one;
- Keep working hard.. keep getting results
; - Eat less fried food; This is going to be hard..
- Run more, specially when playing football;
- Post more on my blog; I’ll keep this one as I failed miserably in 2009
- Eat Nando’s more often with my friend Keith ; It’s the exception to the eat fried food objective
- Have fun!

Caro João,
Antes de mais peço desculpa por ter tomado a liberdade de lhe enviar esta mensagem (não sei se será o local certo), mas de facto é de felicitar e saudar que existe portugueses bem sucedidos no estrangeiro, e no seu caso, novos e na empresa mais conhecida em todo o mundo, os meus parabéns!
Envio-lhe esta mensagem no sentido de pedir uma opinião/conselho e/ou ajuda (esta última ficava muito agradecido, pois er excelente), de como deverei proceder para focacionar a minha carreia numa vertente internacional.
Tenho 24 anos e terminei a minha licenciatura (bolonha) em Engenharia Multimédia, em Outubro de 2009. Ando à procura de uma oportunidade para sair de Portugal, onde possa aprender, crescer e evoluir profissional e pessoalmente. Penso que seja o caso da Google.
É um grande objectivo meu, diria sonho, fazer carreira no estrangeiro. A minha área de interesse e ambição profissional é a internet, tenho vindo a desenvolver desde 2007 alguns trabalhos de webdesign como freelancer. Pretendo direccionar o meu futuro para a área da internet/web marketing e/ou marketing digital.
Como tal, pergunto-lhe o que me aconselha ou sugere que deva fazer, para poder seguir esse caminho? Qual o melhor percurso académico (que as empresas procuram) que devo seguir estudos para poder ter sucesso na referida área? Estou a ponderar tirar um Mestrado em Marketing, no ISEG, contudo o meu handicap nesta área é a minha falta de experiência profissional e, por isto mesmo estou há procura de uma oportunidade internacional que a possa colmatar (pois é sabido que quem tem experiência internacional, tem outras oportunidades no dia que regresse a Portugal).
Aproveito para perguntar-lhe, apelando-lhe à sua simpatia, se seria possível eu enviar-lhe o meu CV para o João, para numa hipotética oportunidade de estágio ou empregabilidade que tivesse conhecimento na referida área, através da sua rede de contactos, me pudesse inserir no processo da mesma?
Quero agradecer-lhe a sua atenção e tempo dispendido, bem como desejar-lhe sucessos de maiores felicidades e, já agora um Próspero 2010!
